Rāsa Pūrnima All the deities of Rādhākuṇḍa are in white.
7 october 2006 -
My place, Sudevī's previous gośalā at Konāi Road, is besieged by all imaginable creatures - rats, mice, a mongoose, monkeys, mosquitos, strangers passing stool in my toilet, a scorpion (my first encounter with such a horrid creature. I tried vainly to kill it), kids washing their anus on my bathing platform after passing on the street, and strange women who try to fill up huge drums of water from my small watertank! I could write an entry for the National Geographic!

I buy a bag of sweets for distributing on Sādhu Bābā's disappeareance day. I visit my Guru-bhai Ṛtu Bijoy, who feeds me a feast in Bābā's honour - rasa, channa, kheer - yummy. He tells me that in the 1970s he dreamt of Bābā before ever meeting him, and told the then-Mahānta of Rādhākund, Jay Nitāi Dās Bābā, about the sādhu with the long beard, the Ganesh-tummy and the long jaṭās. He said it can only be the youngest son of Ānanda Gopāl Goswāmī. He took diksa in Navadwip, however, and Baba visited his āśram in Karim ganj, Assam, 6 times.

Diwali. At noon I meet Sakhicaran from the USA. He will take diksa on the 28th from Hṛdayānanda Das Baba in Vrindavan, though he is usually stationed in Kolkata. I take him to Tinkuri Baba's place and then to Vinod Baba at Bankhandi. In the evening I bump into Gadādhar Prān, who avoids greeting me, although he did see me. He now wears a brāhmin-thread to complete his brāhmin kiśor svarūpa, though the kiśora- feature escapes me. Though he is a mature 55, he walks like an old man of 75.
Later at dark the kund is illuminated by thousands of oil-lamps.

Govardhan Pūjā - The first one since 1998 that I must cook and offer myself. I make simple khichuri and rotis and add sweets and dates to it. The greatest delicacies are offered mentally. After the traditional Rādhākund-Annakut-darśan-parikrama Sudevi and the pujari of the Mandir give me delicious milk-sweets, kheer and bhāji from their own Annakut next door.
